Account Protect:
When you change your device or switch to a new device, Whatsapp will always ask you to confirm your phone number using a one-time password (OTP) sent to your number. But if your two-step authentication is disabled, A hacker performs a SIM swap attack and finds the OTP, and easily gains access to your Whatsapp Account.
WhatsApp finds this problem and that is why Introduced the Account Protect feature update. In this update, WhatsApp may ask you to confirm on your old mobile phone when you change your device and make sure it is really you, not others. This will also notify you of illegal attempts to move your account. This feature can improve your account security.
Automatic Security Codes:
If you want to manually verify users for security reasons then you can use the security code feature. WhatsApp has added a “Key Transparency” based security feature to make this process more user–friendly.
Device Verification:
Now, Whatsapp doesn’t require your involvement in setup checks. This allows uninterrupted use even if your device is hacked. This is to guard against viruses that might abuse your phone without your consent or permission. This feature also provides security against an illegal attempt to transmit messages via Whatsapp. If you want your private words to remain private you click on the “Encrypt” tab, this option right away affirms secure connections.
